Obituary
Whatcom County
Dad passed away peacefully at his home of almost 60 years, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bellingham, WA to Otto and Annie (Berg) Anderson.
Waldo graduated from Ferndale High School in 1933. He joined the Navy in March 1942, serving in WWII, and married Imogene (Swift) Anderson on September 21, 1942. Waldo owned the Tip Top Freeze in Birch Bay, and the Dutch Treat, Waldo’s, and RondeVoo Drive-In in Lynden.
Among his hobbies were playing cards (especially pinochle), fishing, camping, traveling, football (he was a true Huskies fan), and watching squirrels and birds. When it came to people, he knew no strangers he was a friend to all and enjoyed meeting and talking to anyone and everyone he encountered.
Our dad was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend and will be greatly missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Imogene, daughter Joan Noteboom, infant son Don, and sister Verna Davis. He leaves daughters Marlene (Joe) Peterson, Judy (Doug) DeMeyer and Terri (Mike) Vossbeck, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Farewell Tribute Information
There will be a graveside service on Friday, Aug. 1 at 11:00 AM at Greenacres Memorial Park (5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale, WA 98248; corner of Northwest and Axton) followed by a memorial service and reception at Laurel Community Baptist Church.(126 W. Laurel Road, Bellingham, WA 98226). Donations Information

May you find comfort and hope in the promise recorded for us in Revelation 21:4 where it says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. All the best wishes for your family at this difficult time. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I only met Waldo a couple of times, and enjoyed time talking with him very much! While my son Jake played football for the Huskies, Waldo shared lots of football stories with me, both Husky and Ferndale high school. I wish I had spent more time with him, and just wanted the family to know that I appreciated getting to know him and I know he will be very much missed.
