Obituary

Ginger was born on December 14th, 1946 in Porterville, California to Commander Marion and Polly (Martin) Conrad. In 1964, she graduated from Amityville Memorial High School. She married John Luce in 1972 and together they had two children, Shawn and Melissa. They lived in Hollister, California for many years. During this time, Ginger worked as an accountant and on pay roll at the Oak Grove School District in San Jose, California.
Ginger was very family focused, she loved visiting her many relatives and keeping track of their lives on Facebook. She was caring, compassionate, and giving, making herself available to anyone who needed a helping hand. She loved making others laugh, we will all miss her mischievous smile. There are many, many beloved memories of Ginger, like her bottle feeding piglets in the kitchen, her riding the pig backwards, painting pottery, going to plays with her sister, and when she helped her daughter get ready on her wedding day. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her ex-husband, John, and his children Valeri (Trent) Hart, and Kristina Livesay; son Shawn (Cassie) Luce; daughter Melissa (Dave) Bettes; sisters, Nancy Apple, Carol (Bob) Lepkowski, and Margaret (Bill) Managan; her beloved grandchildren (13) and great-grandchildren (10); and countless other extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, and step-daughter Carolynn Stepp.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 12pm at Moles Farewell Tributes, Bellingham (2465 Lakeway Drive) followed by a reception. Ginger’s final resting place will be in Stillwaters at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ginger’s name to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (www.nmcrs.org).

  1. You are missed by many. You will always be My sister, My friend. Love you!

  2. Our sincerest condolences to Melissa, Shawn and the entire family of Ginger. Ginger will be sorely missed by all for her kindness, compassion, loyalty and great sense of humor. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Ginger for sixteen years and always appreciated her great humor and hard work as she served the employees of the school district. She could always be counted on to do the right things and to do whatever was needed to meet her high standards. We’ve lost a treasure, but can carry the many great memories we all have of Ginger forward.
