Obituary

Tonja “Kya-dux-tlat” Casimir- Buckner was born to Carlene Casimir and Frank Buckner Sr, on  September 30 1980 in Bellingham, Washington. Tonja was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother and friend.

Tonja is survived by her sons Anthony and Malachi Casimir; mother Carlene (Fred) Jefferson; siblings Frank Buckner Jr, Cassandra Buckner, and Virginia; grandchildren Jessamine and Koa Casimir; aunt Charlene Casimir; Godmother/aunt Donelle Davis;
And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and loved ones

Tonja is preceded in death by her father Frank Buckner Sr; sister Jaime Casimir Powell;  paternal grandparents Russell Buckner and Irene Monaghn; maternal grandparents Alvin and Jeanette Casimir; Uncle Larry Buckner; Aunts Violet Buckner and Melanie Tobey;  Godfather/uncle Alvin Casimir Jr.
She will be missed by all who knew her.

There will be a prayer service held at the Wex’liem building on Thursday, September 29,2022 at 6pm and a funeral service held on Friday, September 30,2022 at 10am at the Wex’liem with burial to follow at the Lummi Nation Cemetery.
