Obituary
Tiffany Salome Yaralian, 49, of Bellingham, WA, passed away on October 16, 2024. Born on August 5, 1975, Tiffany’s life was marked by her deep devotion to her family and her distinguished service in the United States Navy. Following her military career, she continued her commitment to public service as a Senior Auditor for the Washington State Department of Revenue.
Tiffany was a graduate of Olympic High School and earned her degree from Western Washington University. Throughout her life, Tiffany nurtured her passions for cooking, reading, sewing, quilting, gardening, and feeding wildlife, bringing joy not only to herself but also to those around her.
She is survived by her mother Cathryn and lovingly remembered as a devoted daughter and wife to her husband, Vahan, and a loving mother to her daughter Alexandria, son Arman, and daughter-in-law Chanelle. Her warmth and compassion also extended to her brothers, Hugh, Richard, and Ty; sisters, Krista and Whitney, Uncle John as well as many nieces and nephews. Tiffany was preceded in death by her son, Sebastian, her father, Richard, her Uncle Glynn, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
A service to honor Tiffany’s life will be held at Moles Funeral Home in Bellingham, WA, on December 9, 2024.
Tiffany’s legacy of love and compassion remains a beacon for all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she served.
Note: The few paragraphs above do a respectable job outlining a beginning and end, but it doesn’t really do justice to the space in between. Such as how she met her soulmate and husband of 29 years, Vahan, while working graveyard shift at a Denny’s Restaurant. Or how incredibly, often tearfully, proud she was of her children, Arman and Alex, and the absolute joy they brought to her life. How excited she was to become a first time Grandma in January 2025. It doesn’t talk about the grief she and Vahan endured when they lost their firstborn son, Sebastian. Also missing is a nod to her wicked sense of humor or her love of hummingbirds, squirrels and the deer who visited her back yard. Absent are the facts that she was an amazing cook and when she put her apron on, the family knew they were in for a real treat, or how incredibly creative she was, and how special her friends and coworkers were to her.
As much as we want to tell the story of all that life packed in the space between, we know that there are not enough words to do justice describing the brilliance that was her. A light so bright and so beautiful and shared with so many. My vocabulary falls short trying to paint a verbal picture of the softness of her soul, or the dazzle of her smile. But we can say that she was loved dearly and will be missed terribly.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Tiffany. Tiffany and i were batchmates in the New Auditor Training with Department of Revenue (DOR) way back December 2002. We worked in different field offices, she started in our Bothell office and finally was able to get a spot in our Bellingham office. I commend her dedication commuting from Bellingham to Bothell office during her first year with DOR. We keep in touch as much as we can. Today marks our 21 years of public service. She was a sweet, friendly and sincere person who left the world too soon. Eternal rest grant unto her soul and may the perpetual light shine upon her. May you rest in peace, my dear friend.

Tiffany was my good friend. I was lucky to sit next to her at work and become friends. We shared our work lives and our homes and families. She was so smart and helped so many with her wonderful teaching skills. It wasn’t just lessons on Revenue but also life lessons.
She was a proud Navy veteran and promoted and supported fellow veterans.
Her love for her family was immense. She called Vahan her handsome man and had such a deep love for him. Her children were her pride and joy. She loved them fiercely.
She was there for me and shared fun times and sorrows. We both loved to cook and enjoyed our bunco nights too. She was so funny and quick with a good laugh. She made smile and I miss her.
