Obituary

Theresa Ann Lawrence was born August 30, 1961, to Jimmy John Sr. & Laureen Lawrence, in Bellingham, Washington.
Coming from a large family she enjoyed sitting with her family, laughing and sharing good times. Theresa graduated from Bellingham High School in 1980 and started working at Fisheries shortly after graduating. She loved working at Fisheries and on the Elections and Enrollment committees, they became her second family.

Theresa loved to do beadwork and gift them to family, she was so proud of her grandsons and loved spending time on video calls with them. She always loved to keep track of family’s birthdays, loved family time, and loved talking about riding horses. Theresa always took the time to greet her family with a big smile, and regularly call and visit with her siblings. She also enjoyed watching Price is Right and Gilligan’s Island. Theresa appreciated life and all her friends and family and was so proud to be Mom to Lucas & Miranda, and Grandma to Lucas Jr & Loyal.

Theresa will be remembered for her love for everyone, her big smile and heart, her love for her nieces and nephews always taking the opportunity to spend time with them and share lots of laughter.

She is survived by her mate Ward Simmonds Jr.; son Lucas Lawrence & Miranda; grandsons: Lucas Lawrence Jr. and Loyal Lawrence; siblings: Ken & Cindy Lawrence, Debbie & Ed Hillaire, Leonard & Joyce Lawrence, Wilfred & Pam Lawrence, Ron & Betty Lawrence, and Julian & Virginia Lawrence, numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jimmy John Lawrence Sr. and Laureen Lawrence; brothers: Jimmy John Lawrence Jr and Eddie Dean Lawrence; nieces Laureen Lawrence and Jazmyn Lawrence.

There will be a funeral service held at Moles Farewell Tributes- Ferndale on Tuesday, January 18,2022 at 10am. Burial to follow at Lummi Nation Cemetery.

    Theresa, I will always remember the times we had together, we worked for tribal elections, this year seemed to be special for some reason. Rest In Peace
