Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Marie Terry, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Terry’s departure from this world has left an irreplaceable void, but her memory and the profound impact she made on our lives will forever be cherished.

From a young age, it was evident that Terry possessed a kind and compassionate spirit that would guide her throughout her life. Her radiant smile and warm personality endeared her to everyone she met. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel valued and loved, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

In her professional life, Terry excelled as a business owner in the Entertainment Industry. She began her career as a talented individual in the industry and later established her company, Terry Terry Productions Inc. She produced numerous trade and fashion shows across the Pacific Northwest and Mexico. With time, she expanded her business to include divisions focused on talent management and casting. Terry’s extensive resume includes notable projects such as “10 Things I Hate About You,” “Prefontaine,” “Mad Love,” “Pandora’s Clock,” “Under One Roof,” “Rose Red,” “Northern Exposure,” and Sir Mix-a-Lot’s music video, along with several commercials and print work. Her dedication and passion for her work were evident in everything she undertook, earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

However, Terry’s greatest joy in life came from her roles as a mother, grandmother (Gma and Graw), aunt, and wife. She shared 52 years of love, laughter, and cherished memories with the love of her life, Wendell Terry. Terry’s adventurous spirit and zest for life inspired those around her to embrace their best selves.

Upon retirement, Terry and Wendell relocated to their summer cabin on Lummi Island, a place that brought them immense joy and happiness. Terry’s impact extended beyond her immediate family, as she actively contributed to various causes within Birch Bay, Whatcom County, Ferndale School District, Lummi Nation, and the local community. She served as Chairperson on the Citizen Transportation Advisory Committee, Whatcom County Council of Government Policy Board, Northsound Transportation Alliance, and as an Appointed Parks and Recreation Commissioner for Western Whatcom County. Terry also dedicated her time as a volunteer firefighter and EMT on the island and was eventually asked to teach EMT and CPR at Bellingham Technical School. She was an exemplary teacher who shared her craft in helping others tell their personal journeys and ideas.

Terry possessed a natural ability to make a difference and bring hope to those in need. As one of her last wishes, she expressed a desire for her daughter and niece to establish a non-profit organization called “Terry Terry’s Closet,” dedicated to serving women in need. Through this non-profit, her passion for giving back will live on as her clothing and accessories are donated to those who can benefit from them.

Outside of her commitments, Terry indulged in various hobbies and interests. She had an adventurous spirit, exploring new places, immersing herself in diverse cultures, and creating lasting memories with loved ones. Terry’s love for travel was complemented by her passion for fashion, as she found solace in shopping for unique and stylish items.

Terry leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness that will continue to inspire and uplift us. While we deeply mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the positive impact she had on countless lives. Terry’s spirit will forever reside in our hearts, reminding us to cherish each day, embrace the beauty of life, and extend love to those around us.

She is survived by her loving family and friends, and we will honor Terry Marie Terry’s memory by carrying forward the values she held dear. May she find eternal peace in the arms of the angels.

Funeral services will be held at Lummi Grange Hall, Lummi Island, on May 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.

Rest in peace, dear Terry. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

  3. I just learned about Terry’s passing and would like to pass on my deepest condolences to her family. She was a generous spirit dedicated to her community. It isn’t an easy job participating on local committees, and she did so with enthusiasm and insight.

I worked with her on various regional transportation-related planning groups and will miss her intelligence, empathy, and kind smile.
