Obituary

Tanya Marie (Smith) Jefferson, of Bellingham, Washington, was born   to Leroy Smith and Janet “Ann” (Wesley) Lane on October 8, 1969,She was born in Seattle, Washington the youngest of 9 children.

She loved all of her family and friends. She cherished everyone. She loved and would always be there in a heart beat when needed. She had a huge heart of gold for sure. One of her favorite pics was taking pictures with John with puckered lips. Tanya loved taking pictures, bible study, loved going to Christ the King services, listening to music and loved spoiling all the babies in her life.

Tanya married the love of her life   John Jefferson, Jr. on April 10, 2012. Their love was true and they were blessed with four beautiful children.

She was loving mother, funny, sweet, determined, and caring. She had a beautiful smile and laugh, always there for loved ones and loved how she was always capturing moments with photos mostly the best hugs and kisses.

Tanya passed away quietly on April 4, 2021, in Bellingham, Washington. She will forever be remembered for her love of her family and her beautiful smile.

Tanya is survived by her   brothers Carl (Carol) Lane, Sr., Virgil Lane Jr. and Roy Sampson; sister Cyndi Lane; sons Leon (Nikki) Jefferson and John Jefferson III; daughters Mariah (Darian) Jefferson, Latisha (Charles) Jefferson and Kamaya Jefferson and grandchildren Cassandra. Audrey, Sidney, Ava, Ana, and Shyann and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband John Jefferson Jr.; mother Janet “Ann” Lane; father Leroy Smith; siblings Jesse, Greg, Sheri, Carol, and Brian Lane.

A family visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8, from 9:00am to 11:00am at Moles Ferndale. A graveside service will follow in Lummi Nation Cemetery.
