Obituary

Tanya Lee Powless, age 41, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Bellingham, Washington. She was born on October 17, 1979, in Edmonton Alberta, Canada, to Pete and Stella Powless. Tanya was a mother to three beautiful children; Jesalin, Maleia, and Kadence who she loved dearly.

She attended school in Ferndale, Washington where she grew up for most of her life. She enjoyed playing fastball, ringette, and hockey, in which she played at an early age. She loved to go camping and fishing, where she spent a good part of her childhood at the Baker Lake Resort each summer with her family and close friends. She loved to be creative when it came time to prepare for the holidays. One of her favorites was when the family would go camping at the Grandy Creek KOA for Halloween weekend and she would decorate the campsite, and the whole family would dress up in Halloween costumes to compete in the best decorated campsite competition.

She had an aptitude for making the people around her always feel better with a joke or remark that would always put a smile on their face and make them laugh. She had a gift of walking into a room and lighting it up with her warm smile and laughter.

Tanya is survived by her parents, Pete and Stella Powless; daughters Jesalin, Maleia, and Kadence Thomas; brother Keith Powless Sr.; nephew Keith Powless Jr.; auntie Fran; uncles, Joe and Roger; her favorite cousin, Jodi Waterman; and numerous aunties, uncles, and cousins, living in Canada and the United States.

Tanya will truly be missed by her children, family, and friends.

A prayer service will be held on Sunday, September 5, at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be Monday, September 6, at 10:00am. Both services will be held at on Moles Farewell Tributes Ferndale, 2039 Main Street Ferndale, WA 98248
