Obituary

Susan Marie (Hollibaugh) Reed was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Sue/Susie (65) left this world suddenly in her Sumas, WA home on August 21, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Edward, her children: Candi Cadwell (Jason), Lucas Reed, Brandi Johnson, and Lissa Pyle (Billy), her grandchildren: Tryston, Treyton, Madison, Mariah, Emalee, and Merrick, and great grandchildren: Billy and Zy’aire. Surviving siblings include Mardy, Botch (Ed), Elmer, Mike, and Sami (Cindy). Many more family and friends surrounded her at the hospital as she made her final generous journey to give the gifts of life.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Betty Hollibaugh, her brothers Mitch and Billy, and her sister Marjorie.

Born on October 23, 1958, in Anacortes, WA, Susan was one of 9 children. She loved sharing childhood stories of her mischievous siblings, with whom she shared an incredible sense of humor that she also passed on to her own children.

Susan was not afraid of hard work, holding jobs as a cashier, mill worker, dairy farmhand, and more. In her free time, she enjoyed playing with her fur babies, gardening, fishing, and watching the Seahawks and Mariners. She was strong, gentle, selfless, determined, encouraging, a little sassy, and hilarious. Everyone knew they were welcome and loved when they were around her.
