Obituary
In loving memory of Susan Gale Gary Fumagalli, who left this world on Friday, May 9th, 2025, at 6:30pm surrounded by her loved ones.
Susan was born to Roy and Hazel Gary on June 2, 1958, in Post, TX. She was the youngest of 5 children. She spent all of her younger years in Post. Susan throughly enjoyed her childhood there, which included helping her mom with daycare kids and playing basketball (even though she was quite short). She was a great friend and kept many childhood friendships throughout her life.
Susan graduated from Post High School in 1976. Soon after, she met and married Jim Fumagalli. They resided in Post and Verbena. There they had 2 children – Jenifer and Will.
Susan had many careers in her life – hairdresser, office manager, receptionist, and medical coder to name a few. But her most important and favorite job was Mother and Grandmother.
In the 1990s, the family picked up and moved to Langley, BC, Canada. They stayed there for 3 years, then moved back to the states to Ferndale, WA. They later settled in Custer WA, where she resided until the time of her passing.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Hazel, and her sisters Barbara Kay and Sandy.
She is survived by her brothers Ray and Frank; her husband Jim; her children, Jenifer and her spouse Todd, and Will and his spouse Nicole. And her favorites, her 9 grandchildren – Alex, James, Olivia, Mikayla, Kendal, Alexa, Jonny, Emersen and Colton.
The family will be having a private gathering to celebrate her life in Birch Bay, WA, by the water at sunset.
If you would like to honor her, we suggest donations to women’s, children’s, or animal charities.

I loved your mom. When I was young we would go to Post and stop by for a visit. I always enjoyed seeing her and playing together. We were cousins.
