Obituary

Stillman “Tai” Mostovoy
July 27, 1938-September 16, 2012
Tai entered into the arms of His Messiah on Rosh Hashanah, a day he would have chosen if he could. He was a beloved Pastor, Teacher, Counselor and friend to many here and abroad. He was always looking for ways to tell others of the love of Christ that he found as a young Jewish man. He was an actor in his youth, a man of many talents with a brilliant mind.
He and his wife, Joy, served faithfully together right up until the night he was called Home. He will be greatly missed, and always remembered for his wit, sense of fun, and deep commitment to the truth of the whole Bible. He is survived by his beloved wife Joy, and her family, his sister Paula Geigerman (Michael) and his dear nephew Danny. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM, Sept. 19th, at Word of His Grace Church in Bothell, WA.
Shalom, Beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend.

  1. Tai was a sweet brother..so sorry to have lost touch with my travels.Yes, he would have wanted to go home on Rosh Hoshanna..many memories of eating ,singing and laughing with Tai..

  2. Tai….what an amazing man of God. So much love, so much knowledge of the Word that is so precious and vital to our walk here on earth. We thank you for sharing both with us. You will be missed….but only for a short time as we will meet you at the feet of Yeshua when we are called home.

  3. I am saddened by this discovery, but also so thankful that I had the privilege of having Tai as my first Rabbi, and also a wonderful Bible Study leader – 3 hours on one verse in the Torah – so amazing, so rich and so wonderful. I will see you in the Gan Eden Tai. Blessings to your family!

  4. Dearest Joy, our hearts and prayers are with you. We are so thankful for the times you and Tai so lovingly poured into our lives and our kids lives. We are praying God’s compassion and His great love will comfort you today and in the days ahead. With all our love, Harley & Lynne

  5. I’ve been trying to find Tai and Joy off and on for years. At one point, I found a website, but it appeared to be defunct and I was unable to find any way to contact the Mostovoys.Joy, I’m so thankful to maybe be able to get a message to you. So sorry that I wasn’t able to contact Tai before he went home.

I think of your home in Bothell so often. Others have mentioned Tai’s deep teaching, and he certainly did that, but I remember a refuge, a safe place where we could talk about inconsequential things, like you learning to make bagels, or why the dogs had to be kept in the kitchen. Your home is still the one place I remember from my youth…and I’m 60 years old, now!…where I knew I could go and be welcomed with open arms and open hearts. I got my teaching degree and went away to life, but I’ve carried you both in my heart all these years… since the late ’70’s. Warmth, humor (always humor!), sound theology, and the Holy Spirit. Everything I needed wrapped up in sincere love for me and for God. Thank you, Joy. And thank you, Tai. Love, Candy
