Obituary

Steven “Steve” Lee McCauley, age 61, passed away on January 28, 2021.

He was born on August 8, 1959 in Bellingham, Washington, and grew up in his hometown. After high school, he worked in civil construction in various capacities from machine operator to a respected Superintendent.

Steve’s passions were cars, NASCAR, fishing, cooking, his work, and most importantly his family. His many talents included rebuilding motors, restoring cars and antiques, and renovating our home. This always kept him busy in his beloved shop. His family and friends will remember him for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and witty sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife Donna McCauley, son Brett McCauley, father Ron McCauley, brother Ron McCauley, sister-in-law Jeanette Jacoby, sister Cindy Hansen, brother-in-law Eric Hansen, brother Danny McCauley, sister-in-law Rose McCauley, grandson Chance Glenman, five step-daughters, one step-son, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy McCauley, and nephew Bradley McCauley.

Due to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, and to keep family and friends safe, a private family service is being held at Greenacres Memorial Park. A celebration of life will be held later this year.

To the McCauley families, I am sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. He is no longer in pain. Steve was a wonderful man. He was respected by everyone he met in his lifetime. He will be greatly missed. I have many memories of him always driving like he was on the racetrack. He will be racing on the best track now and will always be in first place.
