Obituary

Steven L. Kreiter, age 63, passed away suddenly on July 10, 2018 at his home in Bellingham, Washington, leaving behind a heartbroken family. Steven was born in Portland, Oregon on August 4, 1954 to Peter and Dorothy Kreiter. He attended elementary school in Clackamas, Oregon, then Ferndale High School in Washington and Kapaa High School in Hawaii. Around this time, he met the love of his life, Darlene Partlow, and on October 27, 1974, they were married in Elko, Nevada.

Steven made a living first as a floor waxer and then a security guard dispatcher, but the job that he valued above everything else was being an amazing father, grandfather, and husband. He was incredibly loving and kind to his three daughters and hoped for a wonderful future for them. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, always joking and telling great stories of years gone by. He taught his daughters and grandkids to always do the right thing, because you only get one chance. Steven loved to spend hours stargazing with his family and naming as many planets and celestial marvels as they could. He also loved camping, travelling to Silver Lake each year, playing with his dog Cocoa, watching Star Trek, collecting aliens, and watching football – go Seahawks! He will always be remembered for his humor, his fondness for animals, his music, and boundless love for family and friends.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Dorothy (Munger) Kreiter, and brothers Jerald Kreiter and Steven King.

He is survived by his beloved wife Darlene, his daughters Gina, Justina, and Shawna, his grandchildren Michael, Valerie, Isaac, Sabrina, Rachel, Kianna, Shaina, Anthony, Jayden, Johnathon, and Kristina, as well as several nephews and nieces.

A celebration of Steven’s life will be held on Saturday, August 4 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Lakeway Estates Clubhouse, 1200 Lincoln St, Bellingham, WA.
