Obituary

Shirley was born on July 29, 1950 in Grafton, North Dakota to Duane and Octavia Burling. The family moved to Seattle, WA in 1952. While she was in Seattle, she was diagnosed with a defect in her heart. Surgery was performed and successful making her the first pediatric survivor of an open heart surgery in the state of Washingtion. That same year she was the “Queen of Hearts” in the Seattle Seafair Parade. In 1964, the family then moved to Whatcom County. She attended Blaine High School where she was a cheerleader. After graduating high school she went to McDonalds Beauty College and got her cosmetology degree. She met Paul Klineman in 1969 and was married in 1971 at Calvary Temple in Bellingham, WA. They continued to reside in Whatcom County having three sons Ryan, Jeff and Kyle. She was a part of the community teaching aerobics at the Lynden YMCA. She enjoyed using her talents of hair dressing and making wonderful relationships with her clients. We will remember her as a loving, compassionate, empathetic, woman of faith, and her everlasting smile.

She is survived by her husband Paul Klineman, and sons Ryan (Melinda), Jeff (Kendra), and Kyle (Katie) Klineman and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Janice (Lee) Wiebe, Sharon (David) Workentin, Terry Burling, Mike (Beryl) Burling and numerous nieces and nephews.

  3. Dear Shirley,I just found out you are in Heaven from your husband Paul. I am sincerely so sad, as we just chatted few weeks ago to abruptly not have a chance for a proper talk, it makes me feel robbed of our last talk.
I will miss our talks dearly and it has been an honor to share so many years of chats and stories, advice..and all. You touched my heart and all our team sends you their love and prayers….
We love you Shirley and i love you too.
God Bless you and may you Guide and Protect your loved ones from Heaven even more Brighter.

    My condolances to everyone.
