SHEILA D.V. HABANA GONZAGA
(October 9, 1965 December 19, 2013)

Sheila H. Gonzaga, 48, of Lynden, Washington, died Thursday, December 19, 2013.

She was born to the late Denzel M. Habana and Zenaida C. Del Val, October 9, 1965, in Pasay City, Philippines. Sheila graduated from Juan Sumulong Memorial Jr. College in 1982, and received a bachelors degree in Banking and Finance from St. Paul College in 1986. She married a United Methodist minister, the Reverend Conrado M. Gonzaga, in 1994.

Sheila worked as a senior cash clerk at Rizal Provincial Capitol in Pasig City from 1986-1988. She was also employed as the bookkeeper of her home church, Taytay United Methodist Church, from 1988-1991. Then she moved to Cainta Rural Bank as a banker from 1992 to 1996.

She was a dedicated Sunday school teacher, Bible study leader, Sunday School director, and personal assistant to her pastor husband. She served as president of UMC Clergy Spouses Association in Rizal District from 1996 to 2001. She was the vice-president of the Philippines Annual Conference-East Clergy Spouses Association in 2003.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Conrado Gonzaga, and only daughter, Bettina Gonzaga. She also is survived by her mother, Zenaida Del Val.

Farewell Tribute Information

A public viewing is planned at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at Moles Farewell Tributes, 1907 Front St., Lynden, WA. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at Lynden United Methodist Church, 500 N. 14th St., Lynden, WA. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Monumenta Cemetery, Lynden, Washington. Donations Information

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Lynden United Methodist Church for Sheila H. Gonzaga Mission Foundation.

    My deepest condolences to the Gonzaga family. Shelia roomed with my future daughter in law after her surgery back in April of this year. She was so sweet and kind. I’m so sorry for your loss and hope that she has moved on to a better place. I’m sure she will be greatly missed.
