I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Sheldon taking a graduate class at the University of Idaho. That’s where he told me we were related. I was born in 1956 too. He was taken too soon!

Sheldon, I can’t believe that you are gone. I just ran an errand in Everson, and drove past Herb’s Steakhouse where you used to hang out with your friends, and then by the tennis courts dedicated to your father’s memory. I cried all the way home. You made such a difference in our lives and have left such a gaping hole in our hearts. I can just imagine you reuniting with your mom and dad in heaven. I know how much you missed them. And I bet you are teasing all the angels…
Thank you for being so kind to me. For being my “training wheels” after my divorce when I had to venture out into the scary dating world again. Even though we only dated for a short time, I gained a friend for life. Thank you for helping me through all the rough times, especially when JC died. For the best birthday ever! For fixing the fence at the farm when help didn’t show up. (I know, I still owe you!) For rides to Tim’s to get the truck repaired. For being my “GBS”(Guidance by Sheldon) when I took my trips to California with my travel trailer, and you had me text each time I took an exit so if I disappeared you would know where I was, and then finding campgrounds for me to stay at along the way. For your “Why not Minot?” shirt and attitude. For your smile, laughter, twinkling eyes, and incredible generosity. You always did with less so you could give to others. Thank you for all those steaks at Herb’s “with my name on them.” I am so glad that I met you, and got to share a little in your life. You were the best friend I ever had.
I am so sorry to see you go, but so glad that you are out of pain, and that you and Lynn found each other and got to enjoy each other’s love. May God’s love and comfort surround those that you leave behind, especially your precious children whom you adored. Goodbye my dear friend… till we meet again.

My most sincere and heart felt wishes to Sheldon’s family. I was one of the managers ‘ gofers’ on that 1974 championship team @ Nooksack.Sheldon was well liked and I remember him as a hustler on the floor and a hard worker at practice.
A bit of a practical joker, one who likes to have fun.
May our Lord our God give you peace in your time of sorrow.
