Obituary

Scott Lyle Cheldelin, age 57, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2021. Born September 17, 1963, in Mount Vernon, Washington, Scott was raised near Lake Padden in Bellingham. He graduated from Sehome High School in 1983, where he enjoyed a lively athletic career playing football, basketball, and track.

Known to many as Slug, he also responded to Scooter, Bro, and Help, which he did readily to anyone in need. His prayometer was always full, as was his heart. He loved teasing his sisters and kids, scratch tickets, riding his motorcycle, and helping others.

He is survived by his parents Lyle and Yvonne Cheldelin, four sisters, Layne Martin, Patti (Kevin) Harbine, Lynda (James) Fell, and Stacy Roorda, two daughters Kasi (Michael) Bannerman, Amber Cheldelin, and son Chad Cheldelin, grandson Cooper Bannerman, two more grandkids on the way, six nieces and four nephews, and more grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his niece Aly Fell, and both sets of grandparents.

Scott’s giant smile, warm hug, and genuine laugh will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be especially missed by his large family who are grateful for the 57 years of love and laughter.
