  2. LaVoun was a presence in our household every Christmas when her year-end letter brought us all the news of her busy and fruitful life. It also brought reminiscences by my husband, Bill John, her cousin, of childhood visits and adventures.
But she become a real person to me when our son Matt went to college in Washington state and LaVoun extended her family embrace to him and made him at home with herself and Virgil. And finally we met, when Bill, Matt and I were together in Sumas with Lavonne, Virgil, and Aunt Elsie. What energy and enthusiasm! What warmth and love!
She called me with a ‘report’ when Matt and Colleen visited in 2013, giving me the first happy glimpse of the new woman in our life.

My heart goes out to you all at losing this vibrant woman from your life. But she will live on in your memories, as she will in mine.

  3. I am the daughter of Mable (Webber) Eaton, Elsie’s sister. I had the opportunity to meet LaVoun at a cousin’s gathering in Texas several years ago and have very much enjoyed the letters she shared with those of us on the Round Robin chain. My condolences to the family.
