Obituary
Ruth L. Minge passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013. She was 89, born July 17, 1923 in Ferndale, WA to John and Janna (Pederson) Minge.
Moving with her parents and siblings to Bellingham at age 6, she finished her schooling and graduated from Success Business College. She worked for Montgomery Wards and Bellingham Shipyard in accounting and personnel during WWII and the Korean War. She retired from WWU as an administrative assistant in the chemistry department.
Ruth was superintendent and Sunday school teacher at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, and an active member and former recording secretary at St. Johns Lutheran Church. She attended Bible Study, and belonged to American Business Club and BUN Club YWCA.
Ruth loved artwork, painting with oil paints, flowers, holidays, picnics with family and friends, theater, games, walks, and the Mariners. She traveled to Israel, British Isles, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and many US states.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Marvin Minge, Maynard Minge, Clara Thomas and Marie Griffith, and numerous other relatives.
Ruth is survived by her nieces, Mary (Tom) Hopp, Sharon Minge; nephews, Mike (Shelly) Minge, Ron (Marilyn) Minge, Michael Ryan, Don (Ellie) Thomas; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Alderwood Park Convalescent Center for the loving care they gave our dear Aunt Ruth, who had a beautiful smile!
