Obituary

Ruth Randmel, age 86, passed away on May 26, in Bellingham. She was born on August 4, 1929 to Harold and Rosemary Peltier in Point Roberts, WA. Ruth was raised in Point Roberts. As a young adult Ruth moved to Bellingham and later met Ben Randmel, her husband of 48 years. Together they raised 7 children. As a stay at home mom she was a mother to many in the community.
Ruth’s life was filled with family and friends. She was a loving, caring, and generous Mother, Grandmother, Auntie, and Friend. It showed in the way she led her life. One of her greatest joys was being a mom and grandmother. You could see true joy light up her face when holding a grandchild. Always there when you needed advice, Ruth was the one you could go to for wisdom, knowledge and understanding. She was strict, yet caring, stern with compassion, and selfless. Ruth would give the shirt off of her back. She was known for her boisterous voice, loud laugh, and sense of humor.
She is preceded in death by husband Ben, sons Bart and Ben Jr, and granddaughter Amy Mount. She is survived by 5 siblings Douglas, Leonard, Hank, Joy, and June, children Star (Steve) Hovander, Darlene, Bernard (Tasha), Leona, and Bret, 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
With all that she was and all she’s had to endure in life, heaven has rolled out the red carpet welcoming her arrival. Her life was our TREASURE and she is our ANGEL.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June, 5, 2:30pm at Greenacres in Ferndale. A memorial reception will follow at Hal’s Pumpkin Patch, 5249 Imhoff Rd., Ferndale.

  1. So Sorry for the loss of your Mom

  2. Ruth was one of the greatest Ladies I ever knew. When I moved to Bellingham I was an eighteen year old kid, I had no where to go and had met Star, she invited me to live with them and I remember Ruth welcomed me with open arms. She was there for me when I needed guidence and wisdom and she passed that on freely. I was one of her kids and thats how she treated me. She taught me how to love potato ball, you kids know what that is. And her favorite song was Jeremiah was a bull frog. She was so loving and kind and will be missed by all who have known this very special Lady
