Obituary

Rozalda Irene Roberts, also known as Sister, was born on April 19, 1934, to Elder and Rose Roberts. Rozalda passed away on January 13, 2023, at her home in Bellingham, Washington.
Rozalda worked many years for the Nooksack Indian Tribe at the Nooksack Smoke Shop and then later worked at the Nooksack Tribal Elders Program, where she was the boss. When she had time off she would practice her treaty rights fishing the Nooksack River.
Rozalda will be remembered most for her love for her family and culture. Rozalda took care of all the kids and took many in as her own. She enjoyed camping with family and friends and traveling with the tribal elders. She also loved to follow and support her nieces and nephews’ baseball team, The Jammers.
Rozalda always kept her hands busy with her crocheting. She was a great teacher and was always generous with her knowledge and wisdom. Rozalda will be remembered as loving, caring, and generous, and how she was “the boss” where ever she went.

Rozalda is survived by her Son,  Corey Petroski; Sister, Sandra (Pete) Joseph; Brother, Elder (Leah) Roberts Jr.; Grandchildren, Keaton, Kayden, Nevin, Timon, Rihanna; and many nieces and nephews.
