Obituary

Roy G. Trull of Everson passed away on October 26th, 2018. He will be missed dearly. His daughters will never forget the practical jokes he often played on them. His family will miss those days of hunting for the perfect Christmas tree, and singing carols together while decorating the tree. Oh, how he regretted teaching Laura how to properly punch—but he was a good sport and sported a bruised bicep for days!

Roy was a man who loved golf, chess, fishing, reading, singing, playing pinochle with his family, motorcycling, but most of all, traveling the country in his fifth wheel. Roy eagerly bought the diesel truck, getting ready to travel in his retirement. Sharon made it quite clear that the truck was not leaving the driveway without her in it; so, she retired early, and they enjoyed many years of traveling all over the country.

He graduated in 1958, after playing as an offensive tackle for the State Champion Ferndale Golden Eagles. For several years, he was a chef on an Alaskan fishing boat. After over 30 years of working with GP, he retired from being an instrument tech in 1999.

His quick wit, his loving attitude, kind smile and intelligence will be fondly remembered. No one can replace those fun practical jokes and inside jokes that were shared.

Roy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon A. Trull, his daughters Kim (Eloy Longoria) Collins, Laura (Randy Hall) Hinds, Lynn (Simon Barajas) de Leeuw, his brothers Dennis (Patsy Strumpf) Trull, Darrell (Jani Trull) Trull, Richard Trull, his grandson Nicholas Hinds, and granddaughters Jocelyn, Hannah and Claire de Leeuw.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roy D. Trull and Dorothy M. Trull (Todd), and his sister-in-laws Sharon K. Trull and Adalgisa Trull.

  1. Sharon and Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather. I still remember when Sharon wanted a miniature Schnauzer and Roy was not thrilled but he said OK as long as he could name the dog. And that’s how a miniature dog received the BIG name of “Bruno”! Roy was always so congenial and welcoming. I know he made Sharon very happy. Sharon, I think of you always and was honored working with you. After losing my Roger I certainly know the heartbreak that comes. Please reach out to me…I’m here for you…Much love ❤️ Nancy.

  2. Dear FamilyIt`s hard to find the right words but know that we are with you in mind.

I am so sorry that Roy has passed. When I was a little girl, he was my hero. He always had time for the pesky little cousin. I’ll miss you Riy.

Roy always had a joke and a story to share with us when he visited here in VA. He is missed here.
