Obituary

Rosalia Angelina Otter passed away in Bellingham WA, on May 24th, 2023. She was born in Bellingham to parents Juliana and Jack on November 11th, 1937.

Rosalia grew up in Whatcom County and graduated from Bellingham High school. She went on to work at the Whatcom County Courthouse, where she stayed for forty years until retirement. She met and married her husband Jerry Otter, they lived happily together until his passing in 2011.

Rosalia loved going on drives with her children when they were young, they traveled to many places in Canada and went camping often. After she retired Rosalia would go camping and on long RV trips with her husband Jerry, and often also her brother George. They had many adventures and went many places, a favorite being time spent in Arizona.

Rosalia loved music, singing in the choir at church, and playing the piano. Her family fondly remembers gathering around to sing together while she played for them at Christmastime and other special get-togethers.

She loved to crochet, often making handmade blankets and pot holders for her loved ones. Rosalia was a devoted fan to “her Mariners” and knew all the players names. She was also the biggest dog lover, they brought her so much joy.

Rosalia leaves behind her children Jennifer, Jesse and Lois, and her stepdaughters Julie and Jill. She will also be missed by her nine grandchildren: Tiffany, Crystal, Angie, Sierra, Seth, Brittney, Amanda, Casey, and Nicole, along with her 18 great-grandchildren, and her niece Janet and nephew Duane.

Rosalia will be remembered as a fast worker, she always got things done! She often spoke of how she loved her Italian heritage. She was a back seat driver, a dog lover, and had a feisty spirit. Rosalia was an old fashioned, family oriented, God fearing and witty woman. She will be dearly missed.

  1. I remember this beautiful lady when their family lived up the street from us in Pasco. Became friends quickly with her daughter, Jenny. Will remember you for your smile, and how tickled you would get and playing the piano. One day we will all be together. Seems like after elementary we lost contact but never forgotten the family. Love to all.
