Obituary

Ronald Eugene Richardson, age 77, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 15, 2020. He was born June 19, 1942 in Bellingham, Washington to Robert and Marceille Richardson. He was the oldest of 4 siblings.

Ron graduated from Bellingham High School class of 1960, where he made life-long friends. He worked for Georgia Pacific as a millwright for 40 years until his retirement.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his annual “Guys” trips to Pearrygin Lake, camping trips with friends and family, traveling to Mexico and Palm Springs, and many years of softball tournaments. He loved playing pool and teaching the game was a passion of his that carried into a hobby of recovering pool tables all over the County. If the Sun was shining… He was outside soaking up the rays.

Ron or “Ronnie” was a loving, charming, funny and charismatic soul. He will be remembered most for his unconditional love that he gave to anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was the best husband, father, and papa/grandfather in the world.

He is survived by the love of his life, Nancy Timmer; his children Darin Richardson, Kelli (Brian) Madsen, Brijean Richardson, and John-James (Ashley) Richardson; his stepdaughter Karin (Bill) Pelan; grandchildren Lauren and Zachery Richardson, Dylan and Taylor Madsen, and Ciaran and Indigo Richardson; brother Donnie (Katherine) Richardson, and sister D’Linda Laird; and many, many great nieces and nephews.

Ron is pre-deceased by his daughter Lisa Richardson, parents Robert & Marceille Richardson, brother Larry Richardson, and his brother-in-law Jack Laird.

Ron’s family would like to give an extra special thank you to Whatcom Hospice for their amazing care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Whatcom Hospice Foundation at whatcomhospice.org/donate.
