Obituary

Ronald Clarence Phair Jr., age 59, passed away on Friday April 14th, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 28th, 1963, in Bellingham, to Ronald Phair Sr. and Gail Phair (Scott). He was a member of the Lummi Nation. Ron was a father to three children: Celina Phair, Elizabeth Phair, and Logan Phair, and grandson, Zephyr.

Resilient, resourceful, kind, caring, and respectful. Ron was a genuine man who was very proud of his three children, and loved spending time with his grandson Zephyr, the apple of his eye. He graduated from Ferndale High School and held many welding and construction trade jobs throughout his life, he was a jack of all trades. His most passionate job of all was being on the Salish Sea, where he spent many seasons commercial fishing on the Celina Rose.

Every winter growing up was spent hunting ducks, geese, deer, and elk with his dad and uncles. His dad taught him all about bow hunting and had a pretty good shot too. He also enjoyed pole fishing the river and the lakes with the family. Fond memories are held by his children of when he taught them how to pole fish, helping with car repairs, and any other household repair needs. Always patient and thorough with his teaching moments, and willing to help whenever needed. Ron is at the great fishing and hunting grounds now and will be missed dearly by many.

Ron is proceeded in death by his Grandparents; James Phair Sr. and Elsie Phair, Lincoln Scott and Helen Lawrence. He is survived by his parents; Ron Phair Sr. and Gail Phair (Scott), brother Darren Phair, children; Celina Phair, Elizabeth Phair, and Logan Phair, grandson Zephyr Dair, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

  1. I AM SO SADDENED TO HEAR OF RON’S PASSING. I AM ONE OF HIS NURSES AT THE CANCER CENTER, AND II HAVE A HUGE PLACE IN MY HEART FOR RON. HE SPOKE PROUDLY OF HIS GRANDSON, AND ONCE SAID HE HAD AN AQUARIUM TO KEEP A BASS FISH HIS DAUGHTER CAUGHT WHEN SHE WAS A CHILD. HE WILL BE MISSED. I PRINTED HIS OBIT FOR THE NURSES, AND EACH ONE COMMENTED HOW GREAT HE LOOKS IN THIS PHOTO.
