  1. I met Bob as a young boy when I would go with my dad to the Cedardale Volunteer Fire Station, I was able to join in 1971 at the age of 16 and had the pleasure of Training and responding to Emergencies with Bob. I will always remember his size …. he was a big man that could move the large fire hose around with ease, grab an extension ladder from the Engine by himself and put against a house …. always willing to pitch in and do what was needed. Appreciated Bob’s calm and kindness whenever we had a chance to just visit and talk about work, family or camping. Bob and Millie also enjoyed the social aspect of the small fire department and regularly attended Christmas Dinners & Annual Banquets at the Meadow Grange Hall. Records show that Bob turned in his boots and helmet in 1987, passing his Plectron to a younger generation, having left an impact by serving his community since 1961.
I did not know that Bob was a Korean War Veteran …. in my eyes this makes him part of the Greatest Generation that served his country and then came home to a humble life of family, work, and giving back to the community in which he lived.

Thanks for sharing your Husband, Dad, Grandpa, & Great-Grandpa with me for 16 years on Tuesday nights at the Fire Station.

    May he rest in Peace
