Obituary

Robert Frank Kelley, 84, formerly of Snohomish, died August 12, 2016, at Stafholt Good Samaritan Center in Blaine, after a battle with cancer.
He was born March 8, 1932 in Waukon, Iowa to Robert Clyde and Freda Marie Kelley.
He graduated from Snohomish High School in 1949 and attended Everett Junior College. He joined the Army and served in Korea from 1950 to 1954. He attended Army Language School and went on to work for the CIA as a linguist for 10 years where he met his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Joyce. In 1970, he moved back to the Northwest with his family where he worked various jobs in the surrounding area including managing Snohomish Co-op.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking and camping. He was an active participant in the Lynden Protestant Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and volunteered as a substitute teacher in the affiliated school.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Clyde and Freda Kelley; his brother, Jim Kelley; and his sister, Marilyn Powers.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Joyce; his four children, Debbie Tuengel, Mark Kelley, Mary Beth Rochon, and Rebecca Gant; their spouses; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild due in February; his sister, Joyce Riestad; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Lynden Protestant Reformed Church, 315 North Park St, Lynden, WA, 98264. Graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
