Obituary

Robert Keith Thompson (Bob) passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024 with his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Liz) and son Robert (Rob) by his side.

Bob had a very interesting life. He dropped out of school at the beginning of the 8th grade and joined the Navy at age 17. He was stationed in Hawaii with a group that handled top secret documents. When his lieutenant was told that Bob had to have at least a high school diploma, his lieutenant suggested he take placement tests before going for a GED. He received top scores and was in the 98th percentile for overall intelligence. From the Navy he went to Temple University, then to George Washington for his Juris Doctorate. After a nearly 50-year distinguished law practice in Northern Virginia he retired in 2006 and moved to Washington State to be nearer to family.

Besides his wife, he leaves his son Robert J. Thompson (Brigitte), Olivia and Elise of New Braunfels, TX and son Keith L. Thompson (Laure) of Fairfax, VA, Allissia and Royce, and three great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
