Obituary

Ralph “Roel” Stavinga of Sumas, passed away on July 23, 2016. He was born on September 6, 1937 in Hommert, Netherlands to Lourens and Hilda Stavinga. Ralph attended school in Holland and was a dairy farmer until his retirement.
He was full of humor and will be remembered for his love for his family, the stories he shared, picking berries and caring for his birds. Ralph’s hobbies included going to the casino, fishing, watching sports especially the Mariners.
Ralph is survived by his daughter Nina (Bob) Solomon; son Raymond (Cassandra) Stavinga; grandchildren, Angela Stavinga, Dustin (Amy) Johnson, Stephanie (Jason) Johnson, Nicole (Jordan) Miller and Aaron Johnson; 8 great grandchildren; and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his wife Luella Stavinga.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 28, at 12:00PM in the Chapel at Moles Greenacres, 5700 Northwest Dr., Ferndale.
