Obituary

Priscilla Colleen Rice Holder, 36, of Everson, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Priscilla was born May 1, 1979 in Key West, Florida. She is survived by her loving husband, Tim, and her precious daughter, Ana. Immediate family includes her parents Peter and Joan Rice; two brothers, Chuck and Chris Ansell; father-in-law Dean Holder; and mother-in-law Andrea Whisner. She was predeceased by her birth mother, Penelope, who Priscilla will be joining forever.
While having worked in her younger years, Priscilla’s most passionate career was being a devoted wife and mother. She was a Mayflower Baby, with ancestors arriving on the Mayflower in 1620. Growing up in Key West, she graduated from Key West High School where she played in the Band and Orchestra.
Priscilla met her soul mate, Tim, at 22 and felt that their stars were aligned as they loved so many similar, unusual and kooky things. They shared a love of renaissance fairs, computer gaming, Celtic music, watching movies, and love for animals. Seven years later, they were blessed with little Ana, their miracle baby that rounded out their family. Shortly after, they moved to Washington State to be near her parents; and settled into a sweet life in Everson, where they felt most at home.
Having fought with illness all of her life, Priscilla was always a strong, courageous and loving woman who touched countless people’s hearts wherever she went. She had many close friends over the years with which she kept in touch, and sowed the seeds of love and kindness in her family and friendship garden. Being hospitalized numerous times, Priscilla greatly appreciated all of the Nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital and at the Kidney Center, and all other medical people who helped her in her short lifetime.
Graveside Service/burial will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11am, at Nooksack Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Nooksack Christian Fellowship Hall, 210 Jackson St, Nooksack. All family and friends are warmly invited. 1. I only knew her briefly, but unforgettable. She left too soon, her journey was not finished. My condolences to her husband, daughter and family. We lost a dear person.

  2. Ron and I were very saddened and shocked to hear of Priscilla’s death. We are so sorry for your entire family’s loss. We were friends of Priscilla and her dad from Key West, FL. We were lucky enough to know her family as members of the First Congregation Church where Ron was pastor, but Priscilla was also a classmate of our daughter. I have so many fond memories of Priscilla from their days in band in the fall and in the winter when they played in the orchestra. Priscilla was truly a joy to be around, so upbeat, and always seemed to felt at ease with her peers and those of us older. She was a special young lady, and I have many fond memories of their Key West days. My daughter was friends with Priscilla on Facebook so we knew she had moved to Washington, had married Tim, and had a beautiful daughter. I am so happy she met you, Tim, and can’t imagine your sadness and the loss you are feeling. May God bless you and your daughter. To Peter, we express our deepest sorrow at the loss of your wonderful daughter.

  3. Prissy,
I have no words, and just cannot believe you’re really gone. You were one of the first people to show me kindness and acceptance when I arrived at Key West High. I was delighted when we reconnected via social media.
You became one of my biggest cheerleaders, helping me through my own health issues, and were always a shoulder/ear, when I needed one. Your kindness, and gift of true friendship, will forever be treasured. I wish I could have seen you, just one more time, and met Tim and Ana.
I made it through many of my own troubles, due largely in part, to you. Thank you for the love, and gentle pushing to never give up.
A light, snuffed out, far too soon. I love you, dear friend, and will forever miss you. Fly with Valkyries ❤

  4. So sorry to hear of the passing of Priscilla. Thoughts and prayers to all the families at this very sad time. Debbie and Hank Niles, Key West Florida
