Life Story
Phyllis was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Molke Twp, MN. In December of 1960, she married Harvey Buettner and then settled in Tacoma, WA where they raised 3 children.
A loving friend, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Phyllis dedicated many hours of her life to helping others. Her role as a nurse undoubtedly brought care and comfort to many. Throughout her life, her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior was evident to all. She enjoyed gardening, loved spending time with her grandchildren, and playing Sudoku.
She is survived by her three children: Jon (Jana) Buettner of Bellingham, WA, Dan (Maggie) Buettner of Gibbon, MN, Sharon (Randy) Freeman of Bellingham, WA; sister, Shirley (Herman) Laue of St. Michael, MN; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren
Her home-going was a joyous occasion as she joined many of her friends and relatives, and, most importantly, her husband Harvey with whom she will spend eternity in the presence of their Savior.
Services will be held Wed. March 15th at 1pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church (858 W Smith Rd) with visitation 1 hr prior. Graveside 2pm at Greenacres Memorial Park.

Please accept our sincere sympathy and best wishes during these difficult days from the Hearing Loss Association of America, Whatcom County Chapter, located in Bellingham from 2004 to the present. Phyllis was a delightful and endearing member although her health limited her activity and presence in her later years. Know that she made a spirited and treasured impact on our lives and many of us have held her in our thoughts and prayers.
