Obituary

Peter was born in The Bronx, NY to Roland and Genevieve Gunn. He graduated from W.T. Clarke High School in Westbury, NY in 1968.
Peter was one of a kind. He was tender hearted, kind, and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his friends – all of whom will miss his jokes.
He is survived by his sister, Randi Morton.
Please come and join with friends and family to celebrate Peter’s life on Saturday, August 10th, 2019. We are planning to get together at the Squalicum Boathouse (2600 Harbor Loop, Bellingham) from 12 noon until 3PM. A light lunch, libations, stories, memories, and jokes will be served in honor of Peter. Please come and share your best memories… I know Peter would love the chance to laugh with you all once again. We look forward to seeing you.

  1. He never met a stranger.
    He always was the one
    I liked for Bellingham Ambassador
    Ladies and Gentlemen, Peter Gunn.

    I miss you every day.
    I didn’t know I would.
Your careful pacing delivery of jokes.
Oy! (I’ll admit, some were good.)

I know you’re killing your 5 minute set
at that stand-up in the sky
    With Robin, Farley and Carlin
cheering for the newest oldest guy.

    I will try to imagine
    the commentary you would run
In response to life around us.
    Godspeed, my friend, Peter Gunn.

  2. I work at Lighthouse Mission and am thankful for the generous people who gave in memory of Peter. Such a great way to honor his life and help others. I would like to get in touch with Randi Morton regarding these gifts, but do not have an accurate email. If Randi could contact me via email, rachelt@thelighthousemission.org, I could get her some information.

I apparently knew him well even as I never knew him. He was always around downtown. I was totally familiar with his being, yet I don’t believe I ever knew him personally— or his name. Perhaps we did discuss the tree lighting, because I believed I learned that it was possible to turn the {LED} strings from white to blue (by reversing polarity?). Tonight I was thoroughly enjoying how Bellingham downtown sparkles with trees and overhead lights. If my memory is correct it is indeed a joyous celebration of our fair city and the people like Peter that helped make it all happen. Thank you, Peter and all who contribute.
