Obituary

Peter E. Acalin passed away peacefully January 8^th in Bellingham, Washington. He was born June 13, 1934 to Pete and Marie Acalin. Pete graduated from Bellingham High School in 1952. He began fishing, and at age 20 built his own gill net boat the Norma Jean. In 1956 he married Norma Gibson, his high school sweetheart. Their son Steven was born in 1960 and daughter Janelle arrived in 1962. Pete worked for Brown Beauty and Barber Supply over 30 years as a salesman. Pete was a member of the Fairhaven Lions, Bellingham Wheel and Keel, Whatcom Good Sams and Bellingham Golf and Country Club. Pete and Norma spent many days on their boat Shear Joy, cruising the San Juans, camping in their fifth wheel, golfing and enjoying winters in California. Pete is survived by his wife Norma Acalin; sister Jane Houser; children Steven Acalin, wife Nada and daughters Stevie and Marie; daughter Janelle Rehberg, husband Wade and daughters Rachelle and Michelle Oates, husband Tyler; nephews Michael Houser and Kevin O’Conner. A celebration of life will be held on January 18^th at 3:00 pm at Cordata Presbyterian Church, 400 Meadowbrook Court, Bellingham, WA.
