  1. Lucille was a large part of my childhood. My family picked her up to go to a Bible study together on Sundays.
She was a gifted musician with perfect pitch. She accompanied us less gifted students. She played piano as I played the flute at our annual convention. I can’t imagine I sounded very good to her ears though I don’t remember her ever letting on.

She did let on how horrified she was by the artificial ingredients in the Cup of Noodle soups we sometimes brought for lunch. Her rule of thumb was if you can’t pronounce it, don’t eat it. lol

Over lunch we often talked about the English language, which was my favorite subject in school. As a teenager, I was surprised to find out how she didn’t like the common expression “no problem.” She pointed out it kind of implies that it could have been a problem. I still say it pretty automatically, though I always feel a little guilty afterward hoping the other person isn’t taking it the wrong way.

She believed in God’s promise to bless all the families of the earth and gave her life to do God’s will in hopes of being able to help in that work after being resurrected if she was faithful until death.

Her faith has become my own.

“The period in which sin is permitted has been a dark night to humanity, never to be forgotten; but the glorious day of righteousness and divine favor, to be ushered in by Messiah, who, as the Sun of Righteousness, shall arise and shine fully and clearly into and upon all, bringing healing and blessing, (Mal 4:2) will more than counterbalance the dreadful night of weeping, sighing, pain, sickness and death (Rev 21:4), in which the groaning creation (Rom 8:22) has been so long. ‘Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the MORNING.’ (Psa 30:5)” The Divine Plan of the Ages, p. 1

  2. We send our deepest sympathy to all of Lucille’s family. She was a very dear friend to our family for many, many years. Also she was a special “sister” in the Lord to my husband and myself. She had a deep abiding faith in God and Jesus. We shared many hours of Bible study with her over the years, and she rejoiced in knowing about God’s Divine Plan of the Ages. Lucille was a fine musician, and it was a delight to hear her play the piano. We miss her. Revelation 21:3-4 Richard and Evelyn Stewart
