Obituary

It is with great sadness to convey the passing of our brother, Paul H McGary, on September 18th, 2024 in Bellingham, WA.  Although we miss him already, we were blessed to have him in our lives.

Paul was born on August 30, 1960, in Lynwood, California. Our family moved to Bellingham in 1968, and we kids learned how blessed we were to live in a small town. In high school Paul was a gifted singer in the concert choir and the elite swing choir at Sehome High School. He was also an exchange student in Cologne, Germany. He was able to experience multiple countries and cultures during his time abroad. Our entire family traveled extensively throughout the United States as our parents came from the Michigan and Ohio area. We were able to see numerous national monuments from Yellowstone to Mount Rushmore to the White House in Washington DC along with many other stops along the way, as far west as the Hawaiian Islands.

Paul was a journey man heating and plumbing technician for many years. He was a voracious reader and a regular at the Bellingham Library. He was a passionate and competitive cribbage player with his family and friends. His kindness was appreciated by many at the Bellingham Food Bank and by most who met him.

Paul was the son of the late Fred and Patricia McGary and his niece Mellisa McGary. He is survived by his brothers Mark (Terry) McGary, Patrick (Janet) McGary, sisters Nancy (Chris) Rossmiller and Jeannie Luckenbaugh; daughter Melanie Cashin and son Adam (Shondra) McGary; grandsons Chase McGary, Will and Eli Cashin, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, December 7, 2024, 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Lakeway Estates Clubhouse, 1200 Lincoln Street, Bellingham WA.
