Obituary

“ With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Patrick (Rick) Bradshaw, who departed this world on February 7, 2024, at the age of 68, surrounded by his family and friends. Rick’s departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him, yet his memory will forever shine brightly in their hearts.

Following a fulfilling career as a plumber and pipe fitter, Rick embraced retirement with gusto, indulging in the simple pleasures that brought him immense joy. Whether navigating the waters on his boat, casting lines into the depths while fishing and crabbing, or participating in his beloved bowling league for many years, Rick lived life to the fullest. His passions extended to motorcycles and his recent purchase of a vintage Willy Jeep.

In his quiet moments, he found solace in the tranquility of his garden alongside his wife. He delighted in passing on his knowledge and skills to his grandchildren, whether in the comfort of his workshop or on fishing trips, imparting wisdom and creating cherished memories.

Rick’s adventurous spirit knew no bounds. In pursuit of his dreams, he obtained his pilot’s license in 1990, soaring through the skies with a sense of wonder and freedom that mirrored his exuberant personality.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and stepfather, Dick, as well as his father, Jim Bradshaw, and sister, Lynn Meaken. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Dianne Bradshaw, his children Brynne Bradshaw, Karly Young (William), and Darius Bradshaw, and his grandchildren Karma Bradshaw, Faith Bradshaw, Lucas Young, Colton Young, and Timmy Bradshaw. He is also survived by his sisters Laura Reed and Karen Bullard (Nat), as well as his step-siblings Randy Sears, Mike Sears, and Vicki Wood.

Born in Leavenworth, WA, his family later moved to Seattle, WA, where Rick witnessed the iconic Space Needle being built from the window of his childhood home. Throughout his life, he spread love and laughter wherever he went, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. His friends will fondly remember his kindness, humor, and unwavering love.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice House for their exceptional care and compassion, not only for Rick but for his family and friends as well. They also express their thanks to the North Cascade Cancer Center and St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Team for their support during Rick’s illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Hospice Home in Rick’s memory.

Though Rick may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever soar, carried on the wings of cherished memories and the enduring love of those whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace, forever embraced by the love of his family and friends. ”

  1. My Condolences to Ricks Wife and Family
Rick and I were I guess you would call it “Cousins in-laws” He was a few years older than me and taught me a lot. How to fish the river for one (I was a bay fisherman). We had a few adventures fishing puget sound waters and the San Juans and more fishing the Nooksack River. We shared many a laugh.

I hope the fish are biting! Tight Lines old friend….. Tight Lines

  2. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with the family. So sorry Rick is no longer with you in body. His sprit will always bring good memories. I know I have very fond memories of Rick.
