Obituary

Patricia Ann McBride, age 71, of Bellingham, WA, went to her forever home with The Lord on Monday, August 9th, 2021. She often said to me, “I love you with all of my heart, soul, and mind forever & ever.”

In 1950, Patty Brady was born in The City of Sonora, CA., also known as the “Queen of the Southern Mines.” Some of our Irish immigrant ancestors arrived in northern California during the Gold Rush days.

Our mother loved my brother and me with all of herself. She always called to check up on me. She often wrote letters, cards and painted pretty pictures, which she sent through the mail to me.

Amazingly, one decade ago, my mom learned how to make handmade beanies, which she sent through the mail for me. I had always dreamed of making handmade beanies. I am thankful to my mom for inspiring me to create and share at least one hundred beanies over the last decade.

To the world, she may have been just one person, but to my sister and me, she was the world. It didn’t take much to make mom happy. One of her mottos was “keep it simple.” I never met someone with an easy life be a strong person, and my mother was the strongest person I ever had the pleasure of knowing on this planet. I inspire to be like her and see her again one day.

Patty is survived by her mother Dorene Brady, her son Douglas Hagerman, Lynden, WA., and her daughter, Christina Hughes, Lompoc, CA. Her sisters Janet Cummins, Rancho Murieta, CA. and Gloria Garica, Redding, CA. and three grandchildren.

Patty was a caring mom, always happy to be a listening ear. She loved her family, going to church with friends, and painting pictures for others.

October 3rd, 2021, in remembrance of Patricia McBride, we will hold a private memorial service for her at 1 pm in Rancho Murieta, CA.
