Obituary
Pat Cranfill entered the arms of the Lord in the early morning of New Years Eve, December 31, 2012. She was born Patricia Ann OConnor on November 24th, 1945 in Beeville, Texas.
Pat suffered great loss at a very early age. Her father was killed in a car accident when she was only three years old. At the age of 17 her mother became very ill and they moved to Oak Harbor, WA to be near her only sibling, sister Mary Esther Grayson. Her mother then passed away when Pat was just 19 years old.
While attending WWU, Pat met and married Richard Faris of Oak Harbor, WA, with whom she had two children, Keith Faris of Seattle, WA and Kevin (Samantha) Faris of Bellingham, WA. They divorced after the arrival of their second son and soon after Pat met and married the love of her life, Richard Cranfill.
Pat, rather Nana as she loved being called, was blessed with three grand children. Dane Faris (14), Kennedy Faris (12), and Hudson Faris (9). Nana was never happier than when she was with her grandchildren.
Pat loved watching sports, go Hawks, Mariners, Sonics and Sounders, but she especially loved to watch her children and grandchildren and never missed a game or activity they participated in.
Pat held many positions during her professional career. She worked in the insurance business in Oak Harbor and after moving to Bellingham she worked at the Whatcom Educational Credit Union, the Hamilton Trust Foundation, Trillium Corp, and Associates in Family Medicine and finally with Family Care Network (FCN). She started with Dr. Harry Herdman many years ago and was with him and his associates through all the moves and changes that grew into what FCN is today. She was very proud of her association with FCN and truly felt that her fellow employees were family.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. S. Harry Herdman, Dr. Rodney Anderson, Dr. Marcy Hipskind, Dr. William Rubin, Dr. William Hall, Dr. Michael Hughes and Dr. Rod Oskouian and all their staff and associates for their love and care. Also, special thanks to Nurse Nancy Stothart and lifelong friend Susan Kapp.
Never complaining, Pat was strong as she fought breast cancer for many years. Nana passed away peacefully at home, with the same grace and dignity with which she lived her life.
May God love and hold you until we are together again.
