In Loving Memory of Orlincio “Orlean” Almojera

Orlincio “Orlean” Almojera of Deming, Washington, passed away on September 13, 2023 at the age of 79. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Orlean’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering commitment to family, a warm sense of humor, and a heart full of love.

Orlean was born on January 13, 1944, in Bremerton, WA. He grew up in Port Gamble, Washington and was a proud graduate of North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, Washington.   After completing his high school education, Orlean pursued further academic endeavors, graduating from Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington, with a degree in accounting, budgeting, and record-keeping. He then met the love of his life, Josephine “Loretto” Almojera. On October 3, 1970, in the city of Seattle, Orlean and Josephine exchanged vows, celebrating the beginning of a beautiful union that would last a lifetime.

The couple made their home in Deming, Washington, where they would spend the next 44 years building a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments. Orlean was not only a dedicated husband but also a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was the heart and soul of his family, and his presence brought joy and warmth to their lives.

Armed with his education and a strong work ethic, he embarked on a career as a journeyman plumber and pipe fitter. For over 43 years, Orlean also dedicated his professional life to the Nooksack Indian Tribe, where he held multiple positions.

Orlean’s family will forever remember him for his playful teasing and constant jokes that never failed to bring smiles to their faces. He had an incredible knack for lightening the mood and making everyone around him feel at ease. He was always there to lend a helping hand, offer guidance, and provide unwavering love and care.

Orlean had a passion for fishing, a love for a friendly game of gambling, and an undying loyalty to the Seattle Seahawks. He was a master of the barbecue grill but above all his favorite pastime was spending quality time with his loved ones, sharing laughter, and creating memories that will live on in their hearts.

Orlean is preceded in death by his parents, Vincente Almojera and Mabel George, his brother Vincent Almojera Jr., sisters Andrea Almojera and Rosie Almojera, Uncle Ivan George, and granddaughter Jenise Wright, among other beloved relatives.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Josephine “Loretto” Almojera; step-mother, Florenda Almojera, brothers Herman Almojera and Leno Almojera, and sister Michelle Chung “Almojera”; daughter, Denise “Almojera” Wright; granddaughters: Coralise Almojera, Melanie “Davis” Peterson, and Skye Wright, and grandsons Shay Wright and Braden Wright; great-grandson Raeon Almojera-McKendry,great-granddaughters Maria Perez, Aria Davis, Kehlani Wright, and Angelita “BooBoo” Peterson, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Orlean’s life will be held on Wednesday September 20,2023, 10:00 am at Nooksack Mi Sq’ Eq’ O Community Building in Everson, Washington.
