Obituary

Oma Evelyn Parker passed peacefully from this life on October 2, 2016 at 11:30am in Bellingham, WA. She was the last child born to Tom and Oma Emma Parker (ne: Barrmore) at the homestead in Goodnight, Texas.
Her brother, Jack, and her three sisters, Ala Trunion Sweitzer, Elizabeth M. Wynn, and Susie May Brown all preceded her in death along with her much loved niece, Shirley Jean Weidenbach.
She leaves behind a niece, Pat Washington, and a nephew, Edward Sweitzer and their spouses and children plus Shirley’s children.
Having migrated from Texas to Bellingham at an early age, she graduated from Bellingham High School and held several jobs until she became a nanny/housekeeper, a position she held until retiring. Her life revolved around her church and the children that she raised as a nanny.
Private services are being planned by her family.

  1. It is with both sorrow and joy that I reflect on Oma’s passing from life on earth to eternal life in heaven! The sorrow is born by all who will miss Oma’s sweet smile and gentle spirit. But the joy she now has is more real than any earthly pleasure – her life with Jesus in heaven is her reward!! She is face to face with her Savior.
Oma will be honored at a memorial service at Spring Creek Bible Church (formerly known as Silver Beach Community Church before moving to a larger facility, and nearby where Oma lived in her youth).

The Memorial service is Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 1:00 PM, at Spring Creek Bible Church, 567 E Kellogg Rd, Bellingham, WA 98226.
