Obituary

Resident of Blaine, WA.

Olga V. Church passed away in her home June 29, 2014. She was 90 years old.

Olga was born to Carl and Antioinette (Oselame) Gobbato on December 7th, 1923. Olga graduated from Blaine High School in 1941 and immediately went to work in Blaine as a bookkeeper for Wolten and Montford. After moving to Seattle she worked as a secretary for Carnation Milk and Ice Cream Company. She married her husband Bill Church on May 22, 1945 in Seattle, where they lived the first years of their marriage. It was there that they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Linda. Those were very happy days for Olga.

Before long the family returned to Blaine and began work building the family home. It was a labor of love that took them several years to complete due to Bill’s absences as an oil tanker Captain. It was in this home that their son “Billy” was born. Olga enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting with her friends, creating treasures at ceramics, and taking care of her home .

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, husband Bill, daughter Linda, brother Guilio Gobbato, sister Ida Brann, brother-in-law Cecil Brann, and cousins Mario Gobbato and Anita Grasher. She is survived by her son Bill and his wife Sally, granddaughters Ashley and Alisa Church, great granddaughter Hayden, sister-in-law Ethel Gobbato, and many nieces , nephews, cousins, and friends.

  1. My sincere condolences to Olga’s family and friends. May you find comfort and hope in the promise recorded for us at Revelation 21:4 where it says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. All the best wishes for your family at this difficult time, I am truly sorry for your loss.
