It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas Lopez Castillo Jr., a cherished son, brother, and friend.

Nicholas left behind unlimited shared memories for friends and family. He was a commercial fisherman and a passionate fan of basketball and football. He was a proud participant of his community, engaging in “rez gossip” and the intricate art of beading. He brought laughter to each and every person he met. His spirit reflected his deep connection to his roots and the profound respect he held for his heritage.

Nicholas Lopez Castillo Jr. is survived by his brothers James Castillo, Elvis Castillo, and Gerald Phair; Sisters Nora Gomez, Maria Castillo, and Orbana Castillo, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Nicholas Castillo Sr., mother Marcella Phair, paternal grandparents Joseph Castillo and Elizabeth Maehorn, and maternal grandparents Sydney Phair Sr. and Rosemary Scott.
