Obituary

Nicholas (Nick) Anthony Criscuola, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left to be with his Savior on February 17, 2024. Born on June 15, 1946, in Coupeville, WA, he lived a life filled with love, service, and a deep connection to the sea.
Growing up on a fishing boat, Nick developed a lifelong passion for the water. His boat, the “Morning Star”, became a vessel of cherished memories, where he spent many moments catching crabs, fishing, and creating lasting bonds with his children, grandchildren, and friends.
Nick was a proud veteran, serving his country with honor as a fire control technician on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Navy, he transitioned to a career as an electrician, showing his dedication and skill in every endeavor.
In 1970, Nick married Judy Boehringer, embarking on a journey that spanned just shy of 54 years.
Together, they raised three wonderful children, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Nick found joy in collecting classic cars, working on his boats, tinkering in his workshop, and traveling with his wife and friends.
A man of profound faith, Nick’s relationship with Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life. Devoted to his church, he embodied the love of Christ to all around him. His unwavering faith serves as an inspiration to those fortunate enough to have known him.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate Nick’s life, his salvation in Christ, and the promise of a joyous reunion in the future.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Eileen (Worthington), his son Jason, and his
brothers, Michael Jr., and Noel Criscuola. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Judy.
He is also survived by his sister, Vicki (Keith) Hutchings, his sister-in-law Muriel Criscuola, cousin Tony Criscuola, in-laws Jerry and Cathy Boehringer, Janet and Dick Johnson. In addition to his wife and siblings, he is survived by his children, Michelle (Darrel) Cronk of Deming, WA, and Brian (Julie) Criscuola of Watauga, TX. He leaves behind a legacy through his beloved grandchildren: Jason, Trevor, Peter, Shelby, Maria, Kirsten, David, James, and Betty Cronk; and Maxton, Ethan, and Audrey Criscuola.
Services to honor and celebrate Nick’s life will be held at Northlake Community Church at 1471 McLeod Rd., Bellingham on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship or Whatcom County Pregnancy Center, both causes close to Nick’s heart:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. 1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV)

  2. To Aunt Judy, Michelle, Brian, and your families: I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Uncle Nick. I got to hear part of the memorial service and was really touched by the reminiscences I heard: he clearly loved his friends and his family and had such a deep connection to where he lived and what he did. May his memory always be for a blessing; thinking of you.
