Obituary
Nancy Brink was reunited for Eternity with her husband Doug after her death on April 17, 2013 as a result of a house fire. Doug passed away from an aneurysm on March 4, 2011. Nancy was born on February 22, 1950 to Melvin and Bernice (Linder) Manning. Doug was born on June 20, 1948 to Alfred and Nell (Kostalek) Brink.
Nancy grew up in Bellingham and attended Marietta and Sumas Elementary schools, Shuksan Middle School and graduated from Bellingham High School with the class of 1968. She also attended WWSU. Doug grew up in Lynden and attended Lynden Christian Schools. After graduation, they were married on May 26, 1973. Doug served his country in the Air National Guard. Dougs vocations included working at two auto dealerships and driving service trucks. Nancy had worked in retail at Discount City and Pay n Save. She also worked for many years as a secretary to the Dean at Woodring College at WWU. Doug enjoyed many hobbies; auto mechanics, photography, electronics, music, aeronautical memorabilia, flying lessons, and growing orchids. Nancy loved to garden and she loved her pets. She also wrote poetry and always remembered her loved ones birthdays by sending them cards. Nancy had a contagious laugh and had a special way of making others laugh, too. Nancy and Doug loved the outdoors and had many adventurous vacations camping in the Western States and travelling to Hawaii and Mexico.
Their infant daughter, Melanie Cristin, preceded them in death, as well as Nancys father, Melvin Manning, her mother, Bernice Manning and Dougs father, Alfred Brink. Doug is survived by his mother, Nell Brink of Lynden, brothers Wayne (Janice), and Jeff (Connie) of Lynden, and Bryan (Jeanine) of Bellingham, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy is survived by her sister Judy Westerberg of Port Angeles, niece Darla McNulty of Port Angeles, niece Janet (Daniel) Downs of Burlington, great-nieces Angela Downs and Elaina Downs, great-nephews Jacob McNulty and Christian Downs, as well as numerous cousins.
Doug and Nancy are together again. We miss them and know we will see them again when our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus returns. A Celebration of Life Memorial for Doug and Nancy and for Larry Manning will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 6:00 p.m. at Fairhaven Park in Bellingham.

She lived a very full life and will be long -remembered by all who knew & loved her.Hopefully you will be comforted by these Verses from the Bible: Psalms34:18 “OUR LOVING FATHER IS NEAR TO THOSE THAT ARE BROKEN AT HEART,AND THOSE WHO ARE CRUSHED IN SPIRIT HE SAVES”.
