In Loving Memory of Muriel (Mitzi) Dora Mitchell
Muriel Dora Mitchell, affectionately known as Mitzi, peacefully departed this world on November 28, 2023, and was born on April 16, 1960. Mitzi was the beloved wife of Robert Steven Mitchell, and together they shared a marriage blessed on March 7, 1982, in Bellingham, WA.
Mitzi resided in Ferndale, WA, where she built a life filled with love, joy, and cherished moments. Her family and children remember her saying such phrases as: “Grab your bag and let’s go pick berries!”; and for them, finding those berries felt like a treasure from God. She loved gazing at her house being built, it made her feel excited and hopeful for her future living in it, and to protect her interest, her husband.
Her favorite activities included serving God, picking berries on her land, canning fish and jam, tending to her family, nurturing the land, enjoying shopping excursions, and exploring new places through travel.
She was a homemaker, entrepreneur, had her bachelor’s degree, was a teacher, musician, singer and songwriter.
Mitzi was loving and known for her kindness, caring nature, faithfulness, directness, and devoutness in Christ. She was understanding, a skilled forager, passionate, helpful, selfless, and she possessed a love for learning. Her hardworking and strong spirit was matched only by her gratitude for a wonderful life.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Cora Delphine Jeffries and Harold Jeffries Sr.; brother Steven Jeffries, grandparents Thomas Tom and Delphine Hillaire-Tom; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband Robert Steven Mitchell, son Robert Steven Mitchell Jr., daughters Cora Mae Breedlove, Deborah Rose Angela Standridge, and Cassandra Kay Smith. Brothers Richard Cadiente, Jay Jeffries, Paul Jeffries, Harold Jeffries, and Daniel Jeffries; Sisters Lois Cadiente, Sharon Antiste, and Cheryl Solomon. Granddaughter Sidena Anela Standridge, Maizy Daisy Smith, Azalia Elizabeth Smith, Lilly Breedlove and Violet Breedlove, grandsons Elisha Jordan Standridge, Micah James Standridge, Jadan Zindell Gamble, and Timothy Franklin Mitchell, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her selflessness and nurturing ways, and her protection over those who she cherished.
