Obituary

We are saddened to announce the passing of Monique Renee Woods on July 16^th, 2024, in Bellingham, WA. Monique was born on January 28th, 1965, to Frances Dalton and Keith Day in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Monique met her husband when she was part of a store’s reset crew where Jack was the one that coordinated stores in the western part of the US. It was there that someone set them up on a blind date. They kept seeing each other and Jack fell in love with her and her 2 year old daughter. He asked her if she would travel to the next store with him and she said, “Yes”! Months later, Jack asked for her hand in marriage. They exchanged vows on April 5^th, 1992, in Bellevue, Washington and together they raised their daughter, Jenny.

Monique held her family in deep affection, creating numerous memories, including anniversary trips to the ocean, where she delighted in the sound and sight of ocean waves from their hotel. She is known for her sociable and nurturing nature, her skill in handicrafts, and her love for photography and shopping, Monique was also recognized for her strong spirit and eagerness for new adventure. She regularly pursued new experiences and cherished moments with loved ones, including playing cards and board games routinely.

Most importantly in our memories stands Monique’s love and concern for her family. Though sometimes perceived as overly protective, her instincts often proved her right. Her care and thoughtful decisions showed her deep love in everything she did in her life and family.Top of FormBottom of Form

Monique leaves her husband Jack Woods, beloved daughter Jennifer Cantrell, her mother Frances Day and sister Michelle Udovch. She is preceded in death by her father Keith Day.

Monique will be deeply missed by family and friends and will always be remembered.
