Obituary

Michael Mathus Strumpf, professor of English, world traveler, lover of words and language, strong Zionist, author of 12 books, guest appearances in Oprah and the Today Show, epicure gourmet chef, connoisseur of fine art and artifacts, lifetime partner and lover with his adored wife Patsy Strumpf, passed away on July 13, 2017.

He leaves behind a legacy of love of language and culture, and was an avid Scrabble player. What a ride this has been. I hope that those who do not take this journey with me know how I made lemonade out of lemons. As the author of this piece of writing, I take full responsibility for everything contained herein.

My only regret is not having enough loving time with my sweetheart. The only advice to those who read what I said is, “To thine own self be true.”

My heartfelt love and thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the Cancer Center, St. Joseph Hospital and Hospice House, especially Dr. Alejandro Rey, Dr. Michael Higgins, Dr. John Radigue, Dr. Williams Rubin and Dr. Mary Lotfi.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy; Eddy (Brookie) Milanes and Robert (Hanan), and his adorable granddaughters Lena and Dahlya.

A celebration of Michael’s life will take place at a later date.
