Obituary
Mary Lee Sadler, age 79, of Lummi Island, passed away on September 28, 2017 at St. Joseph hospital in Bellingham, WA, with her loving family by her side.
She was born to Joe and Palma Hover in Centralia, WA, on November 16, 1937. Mary loved the outdoors, walking and hiking in the woods. She loved and studied birds and raising yard and house plants. Salmon fishing and crabbing were favorite past times for her and she took great pride in her home. Mary worked in education for thirty years as a schoolroom teacher and school psychologist.
Mary is survived by her husband Jack Sadler of Lummi Island, WA, daughter Monica Atwater of Bellingham, WA, sisters Elaine Workman of Tacoma, WA, and Muriel Rost of Miles City, Montana. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joe Skar of Bellingham, WA, James Skar of Bellingham, WA, Casy Sowa of Seattle WA, great-grandchildren Ivy and Violet Skar, of Bellingham, WA.
Mary is predeceased by her grandparents and parents, and son Andrew Sadler.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 1pm at the Lummi Island Cemetery, 3913 Legoe Bay Road, Lummi Island, WA, 98262, followed by a reception at the Lummi Island Grange Hall. Donations can be made in Mary’s name to the Audubon Society.
