Obituary

Marvin Ray Hawkins joined his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on August 19, 2024. Marv was born in Cedaredge, CO January 28, 1944, to Herman and Ethel Hawkins. When he was nine, the family moved to Anacortes WA where he grew up and worked for Bellingham Cold Storage for 43 years.

He attended Immanuel Bible Church where he served as a Deacon and usher for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, rock hounding and was a member of the Bellingham Rock and Gem Club.

His parents and older brother LeRoy predeceased him. He is survived by Vicki Hawkins (LeRoy’s wife), sister, Florence (Richard) Dandliker, brother, Gary (Patty) Hawkins; children, Ron Hawkins, Kriss Williams, Dennis Hawkins, Wendy (Taiwo) Adelesi. Later marrying Linda Brogden Wemp, he enjoyed more children, Kellee (Steven) Mikac, Sheree (Steve) Francis, Scott (Karly) Wemp and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Marv is survived by his wife Karen Nieuwendorp Hawkins.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, September 06, 2024, at Immanuel Bible Church, 2000 W North St., Bellingham WA 98225.
