Obituary

Marsha D. Davis of Bellingham passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the age of 83. She was born September 1, 1934 in Seattle to Stephen Marsh and Alice Davis. Marsha graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma. She attended Washington State College (WSU) and became a lifelong supporter of the Cougars — “Go Cougs!”

Marsha loved to travel, and while visiting Hawaii, she met her husband, Jack R. Davis. They were married on January 31, 1959 in Tacoma. Jack’s military career took them to Air Force bases around the country where she was actively involved in the Officers’ Wives Club. This continued until his retirement in 1975, at which time the family moved to Bellingham.

Marsha was outgoing and very active in her community. She was a member of the Assistance League of Bellingham and Chapter F, PEO Sisterhood. Marsha served in leadership roles within both organizations. During retirement, they traveled extensively, including cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, Panama Canal, and Hawaii. They enjoyed spending winters with their RV in Arizona.

Marsha will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Pamela Prescott. Marsha is survived by her husband Jack; son Greg; granddaughter Ashley; nephew Tommy Davis; nieces Alicia Delegans (Andrew), Constance Perry (David), Marsha Brady (Dennis), and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Northwood Hall, 3240 Northwest Avenue, Bellingham. Please show your Cougar spirit in her honor.

Memorials can be made to Cottey College (PEO), 1000 W. Austin Blvd, Nevada, MO 64772; or to Assistance League of Bellingham, P.O. Box 2998, Bellingham, WA 98227.

  1. Jon Genier says:

My deepest sympathies to Marsha’s family. Please find some comfort in the promise found at John 11:25.

  2. I knew Marsha from volunteering at the Assistance League of Bellingham. She and her devoted friend, Carolyn Cotton were always together when they came into the shop and they looked alike. Both were small and had gray hair and were very positive, even though Carolyn had some serious health issues. I called them the “Glimmer Twins” which was probably not very appropriate as this is what they call Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, of the Rolling Stones but they always shined brightly.
My kind condolences to all of your family members.
